TORINO 2006 OLYMPICS DAY 1 RECAP (Feb. 11)
The first day of competition is over in Italy and the Canadian olympic team has captured their first medal, and it's gold. Jennifer Heil came first in Women's Moguls skiing. We're off to a good start in reaching our goal of coming in the top three in overall medal standings and achieving at least 25 medals.
Along with the strong performance in women's moguls were all 4 Canadians made it to the finals we also saw the Canadian women's hockey team obliterate the Italian team in their first game by a score of 16-0. In the 20km Men's Biathlon the best Canadian finish was Robin Clegg who finished 36th. Other Canadians were Jean Phillipe le Guellec in 48th and David Leoni in 65th. In the Nordic Combined Men's Individual race the top Canadian was Max Thompson in 40th followed by Jason Myslicki in 46th. For speed skating in the Men's 5,000m Final Canadians were Arne Dankers in 5th, Steven Elm in 22nd, and Justin Warsylewicz in 24th.
So that's it for Day 1 results and Canada is currently tied for 3rd in overall medal standings.

so i didn't read this post.
sorry.
unless its like hockey.. or.. like football in the snow.... its just not interesting.
i'm sorry, darcey!
I've decided you're right. Not on the fact that the Olympics are boring because I love the Olympics. But I do agree that the post was boring. What I have decided to do is just include and important Olympic stuff such as winning medals or the sports that you have mentioned in with my other rants instead of having one dedicated to it.
