7 AND A HALF YEARS LATER...


After a seven and a half year hiatus the Canadian Rant is back online with new perspective and a wider range of topics and discussion. The broad fan base is probably now completely disappeared but that is irrelevant to the purpose of this forum and for me. Whether the Rant is read or not is not important, although appreciated, it is more about the ranting than the reading.
My initial post on my return is about hockey and the Arizona Coyotes franchise and I decided to post that prior to this post as it was fresh in my mind and I was encouraged, although probably not seriously, to use that to springboard the return of the Rant.

It has been an atroceous three months since my last posting. I apologise for this and offer up no excuse for my absense from this place. I had final exams to worry about, and work of course but nothing that could have prevented me from posting a little more often then every three months. And now I'm two and a half months into a five month long summer with no reason not to do this so here I am. So what has happened since March 23rd that deserves honourable mention on my beloved post. Well the World Cup is currently entering the 2nd round of competition and I know what you might be thinking: who cares about soccer? It's a funny thing the World Cup, it is like nothing else. Even people who never watch or follow soccer of any form seem to find themselves entangled in the World Cup whenever it comes around. BACK FROM MY RANTING HIATUS It's been awhile since the last time I posted a rant on here and for that I apologize. Of course there are reasons behind my procrastination. Spring break, lots of birthdays, school, and work have all thrown their hats at me in recent weeks but now I am back... and better than ever. Today's rant will not have a specific focus other than catching up for both you and I on Canada's and the rest of the world's events. And what a busy couple of weeks it has been. There have been numerous international, national, and provincial headlines that have caused some serious controversy, change, and reaction from all over. Today is the 5th anniversary of the terrible events of September 11th, 2001. I am speaking to you from the Hall of Honour in the Centre Block of Parliament.
